The Company

My client is a privately-owned Australian business that is at the forefront of the fresh convenience food industry. Products include freshly made salads, salad meals, fresh snacks, fresh breakfast products, cut fruit, value added vegetables, side dishes, fresh chilled soups and meal sauces. They have a national production footprint with sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The Role

As the lead Product developer will be working directly with a key client of the business, to be successful in this position you will need to be confident, clear and be able to hit the ground running to ensure the ongoing development and relationship with the Client.

While you would have no direct reports you will be required to oversee and run trials/projects consisting of multiple staff. You will not need managerial experience but do need to be confident in your experience to manage projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver innovative concept development in line with briefed projects with inputs from category insights, consumer and market trends and industry sources.
• Develop excellent internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure on time NPD delivery
• Use advanced project management skills to efficiently utilise PMF resources and deliver projects on time to customer expectations
• Keep Project Tracker information up to date and follow the PMF product development process
• Lead best in class customer submission and presentations
• Manage project teams in line with customer demands

Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years' experience in the commercial food industry fresh ready to eat produce category preferred
• Previous experience in Research & Development
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology and or Food Science
• Understanding of Australian Food Legislation
• Highly confident dealing with customer requests and deadlines
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent planning, organizing and attention to detail
