Key Information

My Client is a leading waste cleaning Management Company and they are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to work a day shift based out of Central Coast
Due to an increase in workload my client has an exciting opportunity to join their team.
You will be required to carry out scheduled servicing, general maintenance, repairs, breakdown work and hydraulic work to the companies' large fleet of garbage trucks.

You will be working in a clean state of the art workshop where OH&S is at the highest standard.
My client is looking at starting the successful candidate casually then providing they demonstrate the right attitude & skill set over a 6 month probation period then the client will take them on permanently onto their books.

The Successful Applicant:

• Must be heavy trade qualified/diesel
• Must have a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
• Experience working on trucks is highly desirable
• Fleet management experience is essential for the role
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic experience
• A valid NSW drivers licence - ideally HR licence
• Maintain all aspects of a vehicle to relevant transport legislation and standards. This will include lubrication, greasing and oil changes, dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
• Maintain all aspects of equipment to the suppliers standard or better.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services.
• Action all driver daily vehicle reports (DVR) and file as required.
• Perform fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment.
• Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly.
• Ensure all hand tools and equipment are safe to use and stored correctly and in a clean condition.
• Complete all records and paperwork accurately, as directed and required.
